Thomas Gurtner
Thomas Gurtner, born 1956 in Bern, looks back on more than 20 years of professional experience in a broad variety of business areas. After graduating from the ETH Zurich with a degree in forestry engineering, he began to compile a wide knowledge in marketing and event management. Companies such as Swissair, Swissôtel and T.E.A.M, a marketing and events management firm, benefited from his various skills. As Director of Events at T.E.A.M, Thomas Gurtner was considerably involved in the development of the UEFA Champions League: he directed an overall of six UEFA Champions League Finals.
With his leadership qualities and due to his extensive and close cooperation with numerous expert teams – arena designers, 2D and 3D producers, caterers and transportation firms – Thomas Gurtner is a well-known name also beyond the borders of Switzerland.
A large international network at one’s disposal, all-round skills and a history of success were perfect conditions for setting up a company like THOMAS GURTNER GmbH (formerly tgu event GmbH). Which is precisely what Thomas Gurtner did on 1 February, 2007.
